Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our services

What mental health conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, insomnia, and more. Our board-certified psychiatrists provide comprehensive evaluations to determine the best treatment approach for your specific needs.

What should I expect during my first appointment?

Your first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation that typically lasts 60-90 minutes. During this time, your psychiatrist will review your medical history, current symptoms, past treatments, and goals. Together, you'll develop a personalized treatment plan that may include medication, therapy recommendations, or other interventions.

How is ketamine therapy different from traditional antidepressants?

Ketamine works differently than traditional antidepressants. While SSRIs and other medications can take weeks to months to show effects, ketamine often provides relief within hours or days. It acts on NMDA receptors in the brain and promotes rapid neural connections, making it especially effective for treatment-resistant depression.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept most major insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, TRICARE, Medicare, and others. Our staff will verify your benefits before your appointment and help you understand your coverage. We also offer self-pay options and accept CareCredit for financing.

How often will I need follow-up appointments?

Follow-up frequency depends on your individual treatment plan. Initially, appointments may be more frequent (every 2-4 weeks) to monitor medication effectiveness and adjust doses. Once stable, many patients have appointments every 1-3 months for medication management.

What is the cost of ketamine therapy?

With in-network insurance, ketamine infusions can be as low as $150 per session. Self-pay rates vary, and we offer package deals for multiple sessions. We also accept CareCredit for those who need financing options. Contact us for specific pricing information.

Can I continue seeing my therapist while receiving treatment here?

Absolutely! We encourage collaborative care. Many of our patients continue working with their therapists while we manage their psychiatric medications. We're happy to coordinate with your therapy team to ensure comprehensive care.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring your insurance card, photo ID, a list of current medications (including doses), any relevant medical records or previous psychiatric evaluations, and completed new patient forms. If you have questions about specific documents, our staff can help when you schedule.

Do you offer telemedicine appointments?

Please contact our office to inquire about telemedicine options. We strive to provide flexible care options to meet our patients' needs while ensuring the highest quality of treatment.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

We understand that life happens. Please contact us at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment if you need to cancel or reschedule. This allows us to offer the time slot to another patient in need.

Is TMS therapy available at your clinic?

Yes, we offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy as a non-invasive treatment option for depression and other conditions. TMS uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain and is FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression.

How do I know if I'm a candidate for ketamine therapy?

The best way to determine if you're a candidate for ketamine therapy is through a consultation with one of our psychiatrists. Generally, patients who have tried multiple traditional treatments without success, or those with severe symptoms needing rapid relief, may be good candidates.
